We welcome all newly ABFAS Board Qualified DPMs and congratulate new Diplomates. We admire your dedication to the field of foot and ankle surgery. This list includes candidates and Diplomates newly Board Qualified or Certified between Sept. 1, 2021 and Sept. 22, 2022.

A productive year for the ABFAS Board, Diplomates, and staff has included strengthening the ABFAS candidate experience, protecting the profession, and welcoming new officers, Directors, and committee members.

Working together, I am confident we can continue to grow our community and deliver on our important mission, ensuring patients, providers, and physicians know ABFAS is truly the professional gold standard and a credential they can trust.

Several leading podiatric organizations have raised serious concerns about ABPM’s rush to launch the new CAQ and the potential confusion it may cause among patients and hospitals. We have been encouraged to see many comments that reflect concerns we share.

New ABFAS examination pass rate data illustrates why the rationale behind a new, unrecognized CAQ in Podiatric Surgery being offered by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) is unnecessary.

The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) is the only recognized certifying board for foot and ankle surgery in the United States. We are deeply concerned about the announcement by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) that it plans to issue a new, unrecognized certification in podiatric surgery.
