Examination Requirements for Residency Completion Year:
2020 and Prior

Foot Surgery Certification 
Part I Board Qualification: Foot Surgery Examination Requirements for Residency Completion Year: 2020 and Prior

There are two examination requirements for Board Qualification in Foot Surgery:

1. Didactic Examination Requirement

Candidates must pass:  Part I Foot Surgery Didactic examination

2. Computer-Based Patient Simulation (CBPS) Examination Requirement


Candidates must pass:

Part I Foot Surgery CBPS: This examination is no longer offered and is superseded by the NEW Foot Surgery CBPS.


-OR-

NEW Foot Surgery CBPS: This examination supersedes Part I Foot Surgery CBPS.

 

Part II Board Certification: Foot Surgery Examination Requirements for Residency Completion Year: 2020 and Prior

There are two examination requirements for Board Certification in Foot Surgery:

1. Computer-Based Patient Simulation (CBPS) Examination Requirement

Candidates must pass:

Part II Foot Surgery CBPS: Candidates who have passed this examination automatically meet the Part II CBPS Examination Requirement. This examination is no longer offered and is superseded by the NEW Foot Surgery CBPS.


-OR-

NEW Foot Surgery CBPS: Candidates who have passed this examination to become Board Qualified automatically meet the Part II CBPS Examination Requirement and only need to pass Case Review.  This examination supersedes Part II Foot Surgery CBPS.

 

2. Case Review Requirement 


Candidates must pass:

Part II Foot Surgery Case Review: Must pass within 7 years of becoming Board Qualified.

 

 

RRA Surgery Certification
Part I Board Qualification: RRA Surgery Examination Requirements for Residency Completion Year: 2020 and Prior

In addition to meeting the examination requirements for Board Qualification in Foot Surgery, there are two examination requirements for Board Qualification in RRA Surgery:

1. Didactic Examination Requirement

Candidates must pass:  Part I RRA Surgery Didactic examination

2. Computer-Based Patient Simulation (CBPS) Examination Requirement


Candidates must pass:

Part I RRA Surgery CBPS: This examination is no longer offered and is superseded by the NEW RRA Surgery CBPS.

NEW RRA Surgery CBPS: This examination supersedes Part I RRA Surgery CBPS.

 

Note: Board Qualification in Foot Surgery is a prerequisite for Board Qualification in RRA Surgery.

There are two examination requirements for Board Certification in RRA Surgery:

1. Computer-Based Patient Simulation (CBPS) Examination Requirement

Candidates must pass:

Part II RRA Surgery CBPS: Candidates who have passed this examination automatically meet the Part II CBPS Examination Requirement. This examination is no longer offered and is superseded by the NEW RRA Surgery CBPS.

Candidates must pass either:  

Final-year Foot Surgery Didactic In-training Examination (ITE): Passing requires a score of at least 500.  Must also pay the Board Qualification fee to satisfy the Part I Board Qualification Didactic Examination Requirement.

Part I Foot Surgery Didactic examination

2. Computer-Based Patient Simulation (CBPS) Examination Requirement


Candidates must pass either:

Final-year Foot Surgery CBPS In-training Examination (ITE): Passing requires a score of at least 500.  Must also pay the Board Qualification fee to satisfy the Part I Board Qualification CBPS Examination Requirement.

Documentation Requirements

  • Graduate from a CPME-accredited four-year podiatric college
  • Complete a CPME-accredited three-year minimum residency program
  • Residency Completion Certificate
  • Active, unrestricted, state podiatric medical license
  • Proof of surgical hospital privileges
