Roland S. Ramdass, DPM, D.ABFAS, FACFAS

Biography

Dr. Roland Ramdass is a practicing podiatrist at the Foot and Ankle Center, where he is part of a three-doctor group with multiple locations in Northern Virginia and West Virginia. He is ABFAS Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Rearfoot Reconstruction/Ankle Surgery.

He is a graduate of City University of New York – York College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1995. He graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2002 with honors and completed his three-year podiatric surgical residency in 2005 at the New York Presbyterian Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.

Passionate about education and promoting his specialty, Dr. Ramdass is actively involved with the INOVA Fairfax Residency Program, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME), the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME), and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association (VPMA)—in addition to his service on the ABFAS Board of Directors. He has also served as Chairman of the Winchester Medical Center Podiatry Department and President of NBPME, VPMA, and the ACFAS Mid-Atlantic Region.

Dr. Ramdass has lectured at various seminars nationwide and has moderated several foot and ankle instructional courses and labs for foot and ankle surgeons, residents, and students. He has been involved in multiple research projects, which led to publications in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Personal Statement

I am humbled and honored to be nominated for another term. My unwavering commitment to advancing the field of foot and ankle surgery has been demonstrated by my active participation in several organizations, including VPMA, NBPME, CPME, ACFAS, Residency Training Committee of INOVA Podiatric Residency Program, and ABFAS in various roles including as a Didactic Review Working Group member, Case Reviewer, Council on Teaching Hospitals (COTH) representative, and Hospital Podiatry Section Chief, contributing valuable insights, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the highest patient standards.

My passion for foot and ankle surgery aligns seamlessly with ABFAS’ mission, reflecting a commitment to advance our profession. This, coupled with my enthusiasm for teaching, has allowed me to contribute significantly to the education of fellow professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

In these ever-changing times, it is critical to have a servant leader who promotes the organization’s values and mission while keeping your best interest at the core. It has been a true honor to be actively involved these last three years; together I know we can accomplish much more. I, therefore, humbly and respectfully ask for your vote to continue to serve you on the Board, as we protect the public while advancing the art of foot and ankle surgery.
